The Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station is warning residents to be on guard against summertime crimes.
"Warm weather causes us to be less vigilant and that could be a big mistake," said John O’Brien, the station’s captain.
O’Brien warns that doors and windows left open for ventilation could be an invitation for burglary. During the summer, people tend to leave their houses and cars open with personal items in plain view, O’Brien said.
