A health condition has forced a changing of the guard at the Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station.
Capt. Joshua Thai, who took command of the station in June 2016, has been on approved medical leave since November, sheriff’s spokesperson Nicole Nishida said. She could not discuss his condition or recovery further without violating the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, known as HIPAA.
Lt. Salvador Becerra, a 20-year veteran of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, took over command of the station at the start of this month. Before that, Lt. Jennifer Seetoo had been the station’s acting captain from the time of Thai’s departure.
Seetoo will remain at the Lost Hills station as the day shift watch commander.
Nishida couldn’t disclose whether Thai is expected to return to the station.
