Sheriff failed on shooter warning

I was surprised to read the article about the ruling by Superior Court Judge Mark Epstein in the Tristan Beaudette case.
I am concerned to learn that the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department was aware of multiple—10 counts of attempted murder— unsolved cases of gunfire in the canyon over a two-year period, but didn’t inform the public about them until after the killing of Beaudette.
Supposedly neither the state park agency nor the sheriff’s department are or were required to warn the public of those...
