Shavuot relives the Mt. Sinai experience



 
Shavuot is a Jewish holiday that commemorates the revelation at Mt. Sinai and the Lord giving the Ten Commandments and the Torah (Bible) to the Jewish nation. The event took place 3,329 years ago, seven weeks after the Jewish people left slavery in Egypt.
Tikun Lail Shavuot, a traditional midnight study group on the eve of the holiday, will take place at midnight Tues., May 30. The event will have classes, a nosh buffet and a steak barbecue. All teens and adults are welcome.
