Several readers show their support for Klessig

I have lived in the Conejo Valley for 31 years, the last 19 in Westlake Village. To my delight, the city I live in has become better year-by-year, a remarkable accomplishment not duplicated by many of the surrounding areas.

One recent example close to me is the beautification project along Lindero Canyon which I enjoy nearly every day. Our City Council, and in particular, Philippa Klessig, have played an important role in the success we enjoy, working hard to plan good outcomes in a dynamic environment. We owe them our thanks for steering inevitable change in a positive direction.

I know that Philippa truly focuses on what is best for the community. I encourage you to vote for Philippa so that she may continue to help ensure Westlake Village remains a great place to live. Jon Rode Westlake Village

I am retired and have been a resident of Westlake Village for about 11 years. I am also for limited growth and, after years of paying more than my share of taxes, feel I deserve the right to be a bit of a NIMBY in my chosen retirement city.

That said, I strongly support the reelection of Philippa Klessig to the City Council. I have seen only positive results during her incumbency, including upgraded signs, benches and green areas. She took some flak for her vote for Lowe’s, but I also know that she, like myself and many others, saw Lowe’s as a lesser of two evils. I have no problems with the Four Seasons Hotel or its “wall.”

In a country that seems to welcome the addition of nearly fourmillion new citizens per year- mostly through high immigration, legal and otherwise- a no-growth stance is impossible. I see Philippa Klessig as a smart growth council member. John Milliken Westlake Village
