Several months of roadwork scheduled for Woodland Hills

Metro Orange Line overnight construction will be taking place in Woodland Hills for the next three to five months. The work on Victory Boulevard at Variel Avenue will take place between 7 a.m. and 9 p.m., Monday through Friday, and from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday. Occasional night work may take place between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m. Local residents will receive advance notification of the construction schedule.

At least one lane in each direction will be open at all times. The work includes excavation of existing intersections, installation of underground electrical lines, grading, repaving, restriping, resetting intersection timing and construction of new curbs, gutters and crosswalks.

The Metro Orange Line is a 14-mile busway that’s due to begin service from Warner Center in Woodland Hills to the Metro Red Line North Hollywood Station in August 2005.
