Seminar for special needs caregivers




The office of Assemblymember Jeff Gorell will present a free seminar for individuals and families who care for children and adults with special needs from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Fri., May 24 in Marvin Smith Community Room, Grant Brimhall Library, 1401 E. Janss Road, Thousand Oaks.

The presentations will address current legislation, using advocates to navigate government aid programs, creating necessary special needs trusts and financial plans, and developing contingency plans for individuals with special needs should something happen to their caregivers.

Former state Sen. Tony Strickland will help introduce the program, along with representatives from Gorell’s office.

The key speakers will be special needs advocate Lori Boehm, financial strategist Arkady Milgram and estate planners Terri Hilliard Olson and Richard Seff.

The seminar is open to the public. A light breakfast and lunch will be provided.
