Scout receives Eagle wings

Arek Shirvanian of Boy Scout Troop 440 achieved scouting’s highest rank, Eagle Scout on June 24. Arek has been a Scout since he was 4 years old.

For his Eagle project, he planned, developed and built the first athletic locker room for A.G.B.U. Demirjian High School in Canoga Park.

Previously, the room stored sport balls, nets, yearbooks and confetti. Now the room, painted in school colors, has 12 locker stalls custom-made with furniture-grade wood on one side and storage closets on the other. Each locker stall has its own cabinet with name plate as well as a shoe rack, a hanging area for clothes and a space for backpacks.

Arek is a senior at Agoura High School. He is considering studying law or architecture in college.
