Scott Rice summer baseball camp leading off

Professional baseball player Scott Rice will host a baseball camp for kids ages 5 to 16 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 8 through 11 at Moorpark College, 7075 Campus Road.

The Scott Rice Baseball Camp will feature a “spring training” atmosphere where players will be engaged in drills and activities to sharpen their baseball skills.

Rice will also bring former and current MLB and NCAA players, coaches, scouts and trainers to assist the athletes.

Rice has spent 18 years playing professional baseball for eight different organizations including the New York Mets and the Los Angeles Dodgers.

He was a former first round pick out of Royal High School in Simi Valley.

Scott retired from professional baseball in 2016 and has since worked in the real estate market.

Campers will receive a free camp T-shirt, MLB player autographs and prizes, and a pizza party on the last day.

Youth can attend from one to four days. Fees begin at $149 for one day.
