School board seems to favor extended
day for kindergarten
The Sumac Elementary School extended day kindergarten pilot program will likely continue for another year, according to Las Virgenes Unified School District (LVUSD) officials.
At a recent board meeting, Ann Eklund, LVUSD director of elementary education, presented a completed parent survey that supported longer school days for 5- and 6-year-old students.
