Fit 4 The Cause has partnered with the National Council for Certified Personal Trainers to provide quarterly scholarships for qualified individuals seeking fitness certification.

The goal is to provide four scholarships per year that will cover the curriculum’s expenses and honor the recipients at an annual breakfast event.

Fit 4 The Cause is a nonprofit organization that provides low-income communities with exercise therapy, wellness education and nutrition programs

The NCCPT will provide certification materials and testing.

Fit 4 The Cause founder Cindy Rakowitz of Thousand Oaks will mentor scholarship recipients at the all-level, free fitness classes she teaches at 8:30 a.m. Saturdays at the Stadium in Westlake Village.

To apply, applicants must write an 800-to-1,000-word essay including a personal story about how the fitness lifestyle improves overall health and why the applicant was drawn to F4TC, their financial obstacles for certification, and a commitment to finding future scholarship recipients.
