Scholarships for equestrians

For the third consecutive year, the Greater Los Angeles Paint Horse Club is offering scholarships to graduating seniors to help with their college expenses.

The scholarships are open to all young equestrians, regardless of what breed of horse they ride or discipline they participate in. Applicants must be residents of Ventura or Los Angeles counties.

The scholarships will be presented at the club’s open horse show Tues. and Wed., Aug. 7 and 8 at the Ventura County Fair. The show is open to all horses, mules, ponies and riders of all ages.

New this year is the addition of classes for registered American Paint Horses, running concurrently with the regular open classes.

The Greater L.A. Paint Horse Club also sponsors a variety of activities for the whole equestrian community.
