Home hazards are often easy to miss, but according to the Home Safety Council, it is a problem that is too serious to ignore. In fact, in its State of Home Safety in America™ report (2004), the Council found unintentional home-related injuries result in nearly 21 million medical visits and 20,000 deaths on average each year. The study also found that leading causes of home injury related death are slips and falls, fires and burns and poisonings.
