Rural property should have been left as open space

The Chesebro Meadow is home to deer and serves as valuable grasslands for raptors. It is a critical part of the only functioning wildlife corridor in our national park. Mountain lion P12 crossed here in 2009, bringing new genetic viability to the mountain lion population in our national park.
A 2007 National Park Service letter on the Liberty Canyon Wildlife Corridor states: “Any development within this narrow strip of land would reduce the functionality of the wildlife corridor.”
