Retail’s biggest day is this Friday

Anna Baldaras, a 5-year-old from Westlake Village, doesn’t miss the lighting last weekend of the 65-foot tree at The Promenade. Nov. 27 is “Black Friday,” the official start of the holiday retail season and according to the National Retail Federation, U.S. consumers plan to spend an average of $683 on holiday-related shopping, a 3.2 percent drop from last year.
