Restroom redesign

Is it time to redesign public restrooms? The other day I was at a restaurant and I wanted to wash my hands. I had to wait in line for five minutes to get to a sink in the restroom.

Society is facing identity and other issues too. Why not wash our hands of the issue by redesigning public bathrooms with the toilet in a separate individual room, which can contain a toilet and waterless urinal, and place the sinks outside where they are always available? That could solve many problems and speed up access.

I saw this arrangement at an upscale restaurant in La Jolla, where they had a trough sink with four spigots across the hall from the unisex bathrooms. It works.
