Community members can learn about the latest treatments for restless legs syndrome from neurologist Lorne Label, MD, on the medical staff of Los Robles Hospital and Medical Center, at a free seminar from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Thurs., May 15 at The Oaks mall on the lower level in front of Macy’s Men’s and Home Store, Hillcrest Drive, Thousand Oaks.
Restless legs syndrome is a neurological disorder characterized by throbbing, pulling, creeping or other unpleasant sensations in the legs along with an uncontrollable urge to move them.
Most people with RLS have difficulty falling asleep and staying asleep. Left untreated, the condition can result in exhaustion, daytime fatigue, inability to concentrate, impaired memory and depression.
Many people with RLS report that their job, personal relations and activities of daily living are affected as a result of their sleep deprivation.
