Rescue volunteers in Peru




VOLUNTEERS IN PERU TEACH FIRST AID-Agoura Hills couple Lori and Neil Shocket, center, recently taught a course in emergency response to a team of all-volunteer firefighters in Calca, Peru. Neil, an emergency room physician, led the weeklong instruction in Spanish. Lori, who at age 19 had become the first female paramedic in the United States, lectured with a translator. Last year, the Shockets helped train the national emergency medical service in Israel.
