Renowned author to visit Round Meadow book fair

Round Meadow Elementary School at 5151 Round Meadow Road in Calabasas has scheduled a Scholastic Book Fair from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. daily through Wed., Nov. 10.

Acclaimed children’s author/animator David Steinberg will be at the fair at 6 p.m. Nov. 9 for an interactive program demonstrating his creative process. Special copies of his books "The Monster Mall" and "Grasshopper Pie" will be available.

The fair will feature specially priced books and educational products, including newly released works, award-winning titles, children’s classics, interactive software and current bestsellers from more than 150 publishers.

"Reading is the core to our curriculum and the book fair brings children, teachers and families together within the school and community to celebrate learning," said principal Rose Dunn. "With the tremendous selection of books, we are grateful to have our well-read library clerk and volunteers help our students, teachers and parents make the best selections for each child."

Book fair participants can help build classroom libraries by purchasing books for teachers, specialists or the library through the Classroom Wish List program. Proceeds will also fund classroom resources and school projects.
