Renovation begins at Sumac Park

The city of Agoura Hills Department of Community Services announces that construction and renovation has begun at Sumac Park, 6500 Calmfield Ave., Agoura Hills.

After months of community input and reviewing design proposals, the city has awarded the contract to Great Western Park and Playground based in Wellsville, Utah.

Features of the park will include new swings, adventurous playground equipment, wood fiber surfacing, a sand play area, new benches and trashcans, and shade canopies.

Site work began on June 14 with the removal of the existing equipment and drainage enhancement work. The new structures will be installed between June 22 and 29. The estimated completion date of the project is June 30. The Sumac Park playground will be closed during this time.

An official grand opening and ribbon-cutting event will be planned for the community.
