Red Oak kids get early intro to college




GLORY DAYS—Teachers and staff at Red Oak Elementary School in Oak Park wear shirts from the colleges they attended to emphasized the value of higher education at the school’s annual College Sweatshirt Day on Feb. 22. Teachers talked to their students about their college experience and how higher education helps kids reach their career goals. Principal John Duim, second from left, top row, started the event eight years ago. Duim will graduate with a doctorate in May from USC.
