Allan Linderman of Thousand Oaks and Jan Meisels Allen of Agoura Hills have been honored with the International Association of Jewish Genealogical Societies (IAJGS) Outstanding Publication Award for Venturing Into Our Past, the electronic monthly newsletter of the Jewish Genealogical Society of the Conejo Valley and Ventura County.

Linderman is the newsletter editor and Allen the society’s president. They received the award at the 2018 IAJGS Conference in Warsaw, Poland.

The newsletter includes materials covering a variety of areas of interest to Jewish genealogists, including original articles by members, photographs, the society’s program and local information, and occasionally information that may have been published elsewhere.

The newsletter is emailed to members, former meeting attendees, interested parties and other JGSs as well as worldwide non-Jewish organizations.

IAJGS is an umbrella organization of more than 82 Jewish genealogical organizations worldwide.

The 2019 conference is scheduled for July 28 to Aug. 2 in Cleveland. For more information, go to iajgs.org.
