Red Cross honors nine volunteers




The American Red Cross Ventura County Chapter recently honored nine local volunteers who demonstrated dedication to the chapter and the community. The volunteers provide leadership and support for various humanitarian efforts, including emergency preparedness, service to the armed forces, and health and safety services.

Following are the 2010 Volunteer Award recipients.

Volunteer Fundraiser Award: Liz Beaudion of Camarillo for exceptional leadership in fundraising.

Service to the Armed Forces Award: Judy Stahl and Curt Baker of Port Hueneme for outstanding contribution in strengthening the service to the Armed Forces program.

Unsung Hero Award: Anne Maxwell of Newbury Park for exceptional commitment in support of the chapter’s mission/volunteers.

Youth Services Award: Ashley Lim of Thousand Oaks for significant service by a youth volunteer.

Stark Memorial Volunteer of the Year Award: Sue Driver of Thousand Oaks for continuous superior volunteer service.

Emergency Services Award: Carol and Jim Rogers of Fillmore for outstanding contributions in strengthening the chapter’s Emergency Services program.

Health and Safety Services Award: Tish Taylor of Camarillo for outstanding contribution in strengthening the Health and Safety Services program.

Good Neighbor Award: Mexican Consul of Ventura County for significant contribution to the chapter.

Youth Leadership Award: Edward Chen of Camarillo in recognition as a youth volunteer in a chapter leadership capacity.
