Recognition for district administrators

Las Virgenes Unified School District announced that three district leaders received Administrator of the Year Awards from the Association of California School Administrators, Region 13.

The leaders were honored at the Region 13 awards banquet on May 4 in Solvang.

The recipients, their titles and their awards are:

Ryan Gleason, director of education and leadership. Curriculum and Instruction Administrator of the Year.

Erin Roderick, principal of Yerba Buena Elementary School. Elementary Principal of the Year.

Derek Ihori, director of pupil services. Pupil Personnel (Student Services) Administrator of the Year.

Award recipients show strong support for the school management team, exceptional leadership in managing school programs, commitment to educational quality and student achievement, commitment to professional growth, and creativity and innovation in dealing with issues facing public education.

The award winners will serve as the region’s nominees for the same awards at the state level, which will be presented at the ACSA Leadership Summit in November.
