The Thousand Oaks High graduate upset defending Wimbledon champion Andy Murray in five sets 3-6, 6-4, 6-7 (7-4), 6-1, 6-1 in the men’s quarterfinals on Wednesday to set up a semifinal showdown against Croatian Marin Cilic on Friday.
“I’m still in a little bit of shock myself,” Querrey told reporters after the win. “For the last point, I was just happy to hit the serve in. I didn’t start my best, but then I really found my groove.”
