Purse thieves come out of the shadows

Women are unsuspecting victims

 More than a dozen women have reported recent handbag thefts at area shopping centers and restaurants—a crime that means they will have to call banks, credit card companies and other financial institutions as they try to keep their stolen cards from being used.
One woman, who asked to be anonymous for this story, reported that her wallet was stolen out of her purse while she shopped at the Trader Joe’s market in Calabasas, where several of the thefts have occurred.
