Los Angeles County still uses the euphemism “euthanasia” to describe their killing of healthy and treatable animals. The term “euthanasia” is only appropriate to use when describing the killing of an animal that is irremediably suffering or is diagnosed with a condition with a grave prognosis of recovery.
It is a violation of state laws for the local shelter not to have any medical resources available to provide treatment to incoming and impounded animals.
