Prostate cancer forum to take place in Oxnard





The Bethel AME Church and the American Cancer Society will host the third annual prostate cancer forum, "Let’s Talk About It," from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Sat., June 2 at the church, 855 S. "F" St., Oxnard. The event is held in conjunction with June’s designation as "Prostate Cancer Awareness Month."


Guest speakers include a medical oncologist, radiation oncologist, urologist, investigative medical oncologist, dietitian and a prostate cancer survivor.


Topics to be covered relating to prostate cancer include risk factors, symptoms, examinations, diagnosis, genetics, demographics, curative treatments, preventative programs, epidemiology, research, clinical trials, nutrition and exercise.


This is a free program and men of all ages are encouraged to attend along with family and friends. Child care is available with advance reservations. A continental breakfast will be served 9 a.m. and a barbecue will be provided 12:30 p.m.
