Proper prep key in hiker rescue

Two local residents are safe at home this week due to the efforts of the Ventura County aviation unit and Ventura County search and rescue.
The episode began June 2 when a family member called the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office to report two hikers—a 65-year-old man from Thousand Oaks and a 63-year-old woman from Simi Valley—who had not returned from what was supposed to be a three-day trip into the Sespe Wilderness north of Fillmore.
