Pro bonofinancial services for seniors

Senior Concerns recently launched a new program, Financial Concerns, a pro bono financial service for seniors and their family caregivers.

The program will run from 3 to 5 p.m. the second and fourth Monday of every month at the Senior Concerns offices, 401 Hodencamp Road, Thousand Oaks.

In this program, seniors and caregivers can sit down one-onone with a financial planner and privately share concerns and receive advice.

Experienced certified financial planners will volunteer their time to meet with and counsel seniors and caregivers and provide counseling on general investments, basic financial literacy, retirement planning, budgeting, cash flow analysis, debt management, general estate plan counseling, building savings and timing of taking Social Security.

The financial planners are supported by the Financial Planning Association.

Seniors and family caregivers of seniors require reliable direction and answers when circumstances change. Financial planning involves all kinds of everyday money matters, such as drawing up a household budget or planning for long-term care needs.

Through this program, members of the financial community can give direction and confidence to a senior or a caregiver in crisis.
