vote yes on ‘H’

There are many people, like me, in Agoura Hills who are supportive of yes on H.

We are not affiliated with private businesses or politicians. We are just regular folk who like the easy, semi-rural flavor of our community.

Yes on H encourages more reasonable commercial development in Agoura Hills. Retail development the size of the new Reeds Furniture Store or a Sport Mart fits within the limitations of yes on H.

A "big box" store like a Home Depot at 140,000 sq.ft. (more than twice the size of a grocery store) does not. There is also the huge parking lot that would be built bringing the total number of square feet to about 200,000.

It is our belief that such a huge retail store will create a significant increase in noise, traffic congestion and pollution. I recently heard a resident of Chateau Springs comment that she was worried that if this proposed Home Depot was built, she would be hearing the noise of the large trucks driving off the freeway and unloading merchandise. I believe that she is justified in her concerns.

Many of my friends and neighbors have indicated that they prefer an "Agoura Village" or "Promenade" style of retail development.

Yes on H encourages this type of development. In addition, while I think Home Depot is a great store, the proposed location off Agoura Road, next to the beautiful Santa Monica Mountains, is not the appropriate setting.

I have great respect for our city council. Yes on H just guarantees that such a gigantic building will not be built here, unless it is the will of the majority of the voters of Agoura Hills.

Vote yes on H and save "Agoura the Good Life."
