Predictions for 2003

What do you think about the prospects for 2003?

We have mixed feelings, but here are our fearless predictions for the New Year:

•The economy will slowly begin to improve.

•It will be a normal winter for rainfall; wet, but not excessively so.

•Nobody will emerge as the leading Democratic presidential candidate until 2004.

•Californians will get no breaks on electricity bills despite even more proof that the "energy crisis" was a hoax.

•Osama Bin Laden will meet his maker, but despite ample evidence of his demise, he will continue to be a hero in the Arab world.

•America’s love affair with SUVs will start to dissipate as people get more concerned about the environment and U.S. dependency on foreign oil.

•Ahmanson Ranch will get more headaches, but fewer headlines.

•There will be a new face on the Calabasas City Council after the election in March.

•Heschel West Day School will be approved.

•The Dodgers will win the World Series, UCLA will get a new men’s basketball coach and the Lakers won’t even make the playoffs.

Family life sure changed New Year’s Eve. Outrageous parties and dreadful hangovers have been replaced by eggnog, sparkling cider and logs in the fireplace.

We like it better now.
