JUMPING RIGHT IN—Santa Claus, portrayed by Rich Piccerlli, parachutes into the Janss Marketplace during a previous Jingle Bell Jump event in Thousand Oaks. This year the festivities will take place Nov. 27.

Santa Claus will make a parachute landing to launch the free Jingle Bell Jump Festival featuring two performances by recording artist Kirsten Arian at noon Fri., Nov. 27 at Janss Marketplace, Hillcrest Drive at Moorpark Road, Thousand Oaks.

When Santa arrives from the sky, he’ll join Mrs. Claus to ride the American Eagle Express train to the Janss Marketplace Santa House to visit with children until 5:30 p.m.

Arian will perform fan favorites, including “Queen” from her “Higher Than Heaven” album at 1 and 2:45 p.m. in the Fountain Court. She will host an autograph session after the concerts.

The festival will also feature free train rides, story time with Mrs. Claus and a children’s holiday craft activity until 3 p.m.

Families can purchase Santa photos for $10 each from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m., with all proceeds donated to Toys for Tots. Santa photos will be free for guests who present Nov. 27-dated receipts totaling $50 or more from one or more Janss merchants.

The annual Toys for Tots drive will also take place at Janss Marketplace during the holiday season. Guests can bring new, unwrapped toy donations to the

U.S. Marines in front of Toys R Us to be delivered to less fortunate children by Christmas.

Santa will return the next three Saturdays to visit with kids. For Santa workshop dates, hours and photo package details, go to www.janssmarketplace.net

Free holiday train rides will be offered from noon to 4 p.m. Sat., Dec. 7, 14 and 21.

In addition, Janss Marketplace will host the second annual Holiday Lights and Music Spectacular every half hour from 6 to 8 p.m. Dec. 11 through 24. The show can be viewed from any location in the Fountain Courtyard.

The free nightly shows feature holiday music, 3-D images, lights and special effects as Santa’s elves come to life. Philippe Bergeron and his team of 3-D animators from PaintScaping were commissioned to create this Broadway-quality show.

Complimentary hot cocoa will be served each show night.

Live holiday music will be performed during weekend performances of the Holiday Lights Spectacular Shows on Dec. 12, 13, 19 and 20.
