FAMILY TIME—Ventura residents Sophia, 18 months, and her mother, Adrienne Perez check out a replica 1930 Bentley with a Volkswagen engine at the exotic car show during the Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks 50th anniversary celebration Oct. 13. The community event observed Pierce’s half-century of service in the Conejo Valley. Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks-Griffin Memorial Park in Westlake Village has provided care to several generations of families, and is the final resting place for nearly 18,000 persons. The park’s 40 acres are also home to native plants, walking paths and lush lawns.
