Daniel Manoiu, an award-winning pianist and composer who is the accompanist at Emmanuel Church, will perform a classical concert celebrating fall and the Thanksgiving season at 5 p.m. Sun., Nov. 19 at Emmanuel Church, 588 Camino Manzanas, Thousand Oaks.

He’ll be joined by fellow pianist Lauralie Pow Ghahremani and violist Jennifer Cheng.

Autumn and fall leaves are the threads woven throughout the concert. Manoiu and Ghahremani will play a duet of “Autumn” from Vivaldi’s “The Four Seasons,” which was published in 1725 in Amsterdam. Another “Autumn,” this one by Argentine composer Astor Piazzolla,” will also be part of the program, as will pieces by Debussy and Schubert.

Manoiu was born in Bucharest, Romania, and is a film, TV and video game composer. He has played at Carnegie Hall and the San Bartolomeo Cathedral in Italy.

Manoiu wrote the score for the Romanian-American film “Puzzle for a Blind Man.” He is on the faculty at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy College and Conservatory of the Performing Arts.

Ghahremani has a doctorate in collaborative piano from the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music. While at Frost, Ghahremani worked with the Miami Summer Music Festival’s production of “The Magic Flute.”

She was a keyboardist for the Henry Mancini Orchestra. Ghahremani is on faculty at AMDA in Los Angeles as an accompanist.

Cheng is from Yi-Lan, Taiwan. She moved to the United States after middle school and studied music at the Orange County School of the Arts, where she played in the symphony orchestra as the principal violist during high school.

She attends UCLA, majoring in viola performance.

The concert is free and open to the public. A free-will offering will be taken to help pay for expenses.
