On June 22, the Calabasas City Council approved the highly controversial Canyon Oaks development on Las Virgenes Road just south of the Mobil gas station.
This development involves over 2 million cubic yards of grading that cuts down hillsides to fill in the canyon to accommodate a huge, blocky-looking, three-story, 72,000-square-foot hotel, in addition to 71 not very attractive homes in a canyon that has steep hillsides, heritage oaks, rare plants, a natural spring and wetland, an ancient land...
