In these tough economic times, one reason people surrender their pets to the local shelters is they can no longer afford to keep them. In an effort to keep pets in their homes, the Camarillo animal shelter started the Pet Pantry program in November 2009.
The Pet Pantry is open for two hours each Sunday at both the Camarillo and Simi shelters. An average of 65 clients are served each week.
