Paws up, don’t shoot . . . or should we?



As if it weren’t hard enough to protect the area’s precious few majestic mountain lions from mange, starvation, destruction of habitat, inbreeding, poisoning and traffic collisions— now comes the threat of some people who are intent on putting down the animals the old-fashioned way: with a rifle and bullet.
