I don’t know how many of us have noticed yet another sad sign of the times. Worse, I don’t know how many of us care.
I am talking about the absence of Old Glory displays at our homes on national holidays. I live in a tract of 375 homes. This past Memorial Day, only 29 homeowners showed the Stars and Stripes. This past weekend, on July 4, that number was 32.
I took the time and made the effort to conduct this count because I was saddened by the lack of interest, custom and history.
