Park service to honor Chumash leader



The National Park Service will honor Charlie Cooke, a hereditary chief of a Chumash tribe, with a series of activities on Sun., March 20 at Rancho Sierra Vista/Satwiwa in Newbury Park.
Cooke has devoted more than 25 years of public service to the community and to NPS. In addition to honoring Cooke, NPS will celebrate a new year of activities at the Native American Indian Culture Center at Satwiwa, a center that Cooke was instrumental in establishing.
