Oak Park residents who raised their collective voices have temporarily saved a 50-year-old ash tree that was scheduled to be cut down at Mae Boyar Park.
The board of directors of the Rancho Simi Recreation and Park District, which oversees park operations in Oak Park, previously voted to remove the more than 40-foot-tall tree out of concern for safety. But at their Aug. 20 meeting the board said it will reconsider its decision.
