The Westlake Village Art Guild will present Dan La-Vigne demonstrating his painting technique at a dinner meeting on Tues., Sept. 2 at the Los Robles Greens West Ballroom, 299 S. Moorpark Road, Thousand Oaks.

Doors will open at 5:30 p.m., with dinner at 6 p.m. and demonstration from 7 to 9 p.m.

Working as a commercial illustrator through the 1980s, LaVi- gne’s oil paintings were featured in nu- merous publications, including Archi- tectural

Digest, Bon Appetite and Los Angeles Magazine.

In 1990, he received an MFA from Cal State Long Beach.

Since moving to Ventura County in 2001, he has been represented in numerous group and one-man shows, contributing work for the Ventura Music Festival, Carnegie Museum and Ventura Cultural Affairs Division.

LaVigne teaches painting at the California Art Institute in Westlake Village. His paintings are in private collections and in the permanent collection of Santa Monica College. He was recently featured in the inaugural edition of Best of America.
