Overtaxed and under-loved

There was a story on the news that the L.A. City Council had passed a measure to put a $1.5-billion bond measure on the ballot for the care of homeless people.

Another story on the news was about the plan to spend $1.5 billion on the L.A. River. The river is not broken so don’t fix it. Use that money to help the homeless and we won’t need the bond measure or parcel tax.

The reason people are home- less is that the L.A. City Council and other government entities have taxed and overregulated businesses to the point that they have left the state and people are now unemployed and homeless. The government is responsible for making people homeless.

We have $58 billion for a bullet train to nowhere but we need new taxes for infrastructure.

We also have $50 million for a wildlife bridge over the 101 Freeway. If we have funds for these projects we don’t need any new bonds or parcel taxes.

If they have all this money for frivolous projects as noted above, then vote no on any new forms of taxes because they can make do with what they have.
