Agoura (4-5) at Calabasas (1-8)

Outlook: As anticipated, Calabasas has struggled to move the ball against bigger, deeper Marmonte League opponents.

The Coyotes have been shutout in their last two contests and are averaging only 6.6 points per game in six league tilts to date.

Agoura finally broke its nasty four-game losing streak with a 42-17 stomping of Royal last weekend at home.

The Chargers showed good offensive balance by throwing for 294 yards and rushing for 112 more. The defense also played well vs. the Highlanders.

Still, AHS probably can’t help but look back to its loss at Simi Valley on Oct. 17 and cringe. That was the turning point of the season.

Thousand Oaks (8-1) at Newbury Park (7-2)

Outlook: Always a heated rivalry game, this matchup takes on added importance for a pair of playoff-worthy teams.

At stake is postseason seeding.

Thousand Oaks needs a win and a Moorpark loss against Westlake to claim a share of the league title—Moorpark defeated TOHS in Week 7.

A T.O. loss coupled with a victory by Westlake, however, means the Lancers would drop all the way down to a fourth seed for the playoffs.

Newbury Park is quietly playing some of its best football of the year at just the right time. Whoever draws NPHS in the first round will have its hands full containing the Panthers’ run game.
