Sierra Canyon (3-0) at Agoura (1-2)

Outlook: This is an intriguing test for Agoura. Sierra Canyon is a small-school powerhouse. The Trailblazers went 15-0 and won a state bowl game in 2011. The Chargers are in a mini-funk— another loss will send them on a three-game tailspin with an unforgiving stretch looming. After Sierra Canyon, Agoura battles Thousand Oaks (Oct. 2) and Moorpark (Oct. 10). WR Matt Goldberg is a catalyst for the Chargers on offense. Agoura’s a dangerous team when he touches the ball. Brenner Marsh is an athletic dual-threat quarterback. Agoura proved it can play with anyone after leading Newbury Park at halftime, but the Chargers must adjust when teams figure out how to stop the read option.

Antelope Valley (1-1) at Oaks Christian (1-2)

Outlook: The Lions are back in the win column after defeating Venice 48- 3 last weekend. Freshman QB Matt Corral and junior transfer RB Gil’Scott Jackson had strong debuts with the Lions. Corral completed 9 of 15 passes for 193 yards, three touchdowns, one interception and one rushing TD against Venice. Jackson, who rushed for 904 yards with Scripps Ranch High in San Diego as a freshman last year, had an eight-yard TD run at 8:19 in the first quarter. Michael Pittman had four catches for 119 yards and a touchdown. Alex Bachman had five receptions for 67 yards and a score. Mark Shide and Pittman snagged interceptions. Defensive end Trevor Howard is out for the rest of the season with an ACL tear.
