OPUSD’s student aliens welcome



Regarding Mr. Toomey’s argument against the policy of OPUSD to allow nonresidents to enroll in our schools, it must be pointed out that nonresident students bring in more money than it costs to educate them. By admitting outside students, our schools are able to maintain the high standards for which they are known. Their numbers allow us to keep the programs (honors and AP classes, art and music programs, P.E., etc.) that distinguish our schools and make them competitive.
