‘Open Mike Night’ coming to Agoura Hills City Council

‘Open Mike Night’ coming
to Agoura Hills City Council

To provide residents with an opportunity to speak their minds about any city issue, the Agoura Hills City Council has scheduled an "Open Mike Night" at the next city council meeting at 7 p.m., Wed. April 14.

City Councilman Jeff Reinhardt organized the session in response to complaints that city officials were approving developments without proper public notification. To quell any notion that the council isn’t receptive to the concerns of citizens, Reinhardt proposed Open Mike Night.

Regarding secretiveness, Reinhardt said, "Nothing could be more wrong. We publicize all meetings in advance and agendas are available on the city Website."

On Open Mike Night, any question is fair game, Reinhardt said.

While city staff can’t make specific recommendations on an item that wasn’t on the agenda, the topic could be placed on a future agenda and be addressed at that time.

Reinhardt added that residents could also present ideas or get clarifications about current city projects, including the Kanan/101 Freeway interchange project.

Other projects or events can also be introduced at Open Mike Night.
