The 24-home Riopharm project west of Liberty Canyon is a perfect example of why homes in our area cost far more than the $70 to $100 per square foot that it actually costs to build a deluxe house. I can only imagine what it cost for the interest on the money used to acquire the land and hold onto it for 10 years. The tax bill for 10 years must have been substantial.
