Old Calabasas oak tree down, almost

Trunk saved in hopes of a comeback

WOOD SHOP—Although mostly dead, part of the trunk remains.
A large oak tree more than two centuries old was recently cut down in Old Town Calabasas, but not all the way.
Arborists from the City of Calabasas and a private firm determined that the valley oak tree in the 23500 block of Calabasas Road was dying and presented a hazard to the public.
The tree grew in front of Calabasas Jewelers on the historic Kramer store property, just across the street from the Sagebrush
Cantina in Old Town....
