CLASSIC PAIRS—From left, neatnick Florence (Lillie Case) with messy Olive (Isabelle Delman) and fussy Felix (Cameron Love) with slob Oscar (Colin Grumney) in separate male-female versions of the famous Neil Simon comedy coming next week to Playhouse 101 in Agoura Hills.

At the beginning of the year, Playhouse 101 opened its doors and established Curtain Call Youth Theatre in a new and permanent home.

Curtain Call Youth Theatre will present Neil Simon’s “The Odd Couple” and “The Odd Couple: Female Version” June 1 through 4 at 28720 Canwood St., Ste. 108, Agoura Hills.

Show times for “The Odd Couple” are 8 p.m. Fri., June 2; 2 p.m. Sat., June 3, and 7 p.m. Sun., June. 4.

Performances for the female version are 7 p.m. Thurs., June 1; 8 p.m. Sat., June 3, and 2 p.m. Sun., June 4.

Jeff Wallach is the producing artistic director.

The original comedy opens as a group of the guys assemble for cards in the apartment of divorced Oscar Madison. And if the mess is any indication, it’s no wonder that his wife left him.

Late to arrive is Felix Unger, who has just been separated from his wife. Fastidious, depressed, and tense, Felix seems suicidal, but as the action unfolds, Oscar becomes the one with murder on his mind when the clean freak and the slob decide to room.

In “The Odd Couple: Female Version,” Florence Unger, Olive Madison and the girls gather for an evening of Trivial Pursuit instead of poker. The two Constanzuela brothers replace the Pidgeon sisters.

Tickets are $18 for general admission and $15 for seniors and students.

On the same weekend, Curtain Call Youth Theatre will also hold auditions for its teen summer musical, “Cabaret.”

All roles are open to teens ages 13 to 19.

Auditions will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sat., June 3 and from 5 to 8 p.m. Mon., June 5.

Auditions are by appointment only. Check the website above for audition requirements.

The theater comprises 4,000 square feet and includes a 2,200-square-foot black box theatre, a small rehearsal room, box office and dressing rooms.
